Data collection surveys are incredibly important tools used to gauge a students knowledge, performance, etc. So I believe I would use it similar to how FSU does end of semester surveys, being to rate the overall course and the overall professor. I would use this especially my first few years teaching, mostly to see what works and what doesn't work so I can become a better teacher for my students. This would be most effective at the K-5 level as more parents are involved and students are more likely to answer honestly rather than a high school student who just wants to submit it and get it over with. What I found most interesting was seeing what everyone's newsletters were and how they would design them towards a specific age group. Some people have the inherent ability to cater towards the youth and it shows, especially the K-5 level. I on the other hand do not, I have worked in a professional setting for 4 years now and I am accustom to that level of learning, design, and tea...

Copyright and Fair Use are similar in that they are both dealing with technology, while not closely related they do share some key details. Copyright protects intellectual property from others gaining profits or recognition without the explicit authorization of the creator. Fair Use allows for some elements or all of a common intellectual property to be used without the user having to request and authorization for us, allowing for "fair use". Academic dishonesty is a very tough subject, especially nowadays with the introduction of AI that can write papers, complete excel sheets, etc. Addressing this in a classroom setting will be very difficult, especially with the fact that you can't prove without solid evidence, usually in the form of technology, that a student is cheating. This goes hand in hand with the other issue, student privacy, when students have personal computers it is nearly impossible to search that computer for evidence without needing special authorization...

My experiences using Twitter have been rather pleasant. As compared to using Twitter for personal use and all that nonsense, using it for this class has been much more civil and friendly. The app has a lot of VERY opinionated people and they will let you know that, but when it is focused solely on objective based statistics and education there is less bias and online rage from people. This is not to say it is obsolete of this behavior as it has sadly creeped in under every known Twitter account, including our Department of Education. The digital divide greatly affects student success in schools, while it was much less prominent when I was in grade school I believe it has a greater emphasis now. One of the best examples of this is COVID, if you were a student in a low-income area where the school district could not supply students with desktops and computers for zoom, chances are you are left behind compared to students who had access to this. Causes of the digital divide are large...

Distance learning is a concept many students struggle with, this mostly arose during the COVID-19 Pandemic. I personally struggled a great deal with it, yet selfishly I enjoyed the ability to turn my computer on, go back to bed, and still get credit for class. For the parts I didn't like, almost everything else. I felt as though I never really learned anything since even when I was paying attention, it felt like I was simply watching a YouTube video. I think by minimizing the amount of lecturing done as a teacher can drastically help with keeping the attention of their students. This keeps them more engaged and more likely to retain and learn the information they are being taught. OER (Open Educational Resources) are tools of education that can be used and have aspects of their tools extracted from them in order to create new tools. These are free of cost, be it monetary or intellectual cost. The resource I found can be found here , and it provides a base level overview of persona...

My name is Billy Sorsby, however my full name is William John Sorsby. I am currently enrolled at FSU and plan on graduating as soon as I can. I say this because I am a full time student but also a full time employee within a family business. Our company, Arrowhead Global LLC. is in the Aerospace and Defense public contracting business, and are located out of Clearwater, Florida. I am a huge hockey fan and currently play for the FSU team as well as being the Social Chair for our executive board. I grew up playing hockey in Florida which to most is very weird but it is all I have ever known, my family are all hockey players and originate from the greater Boston area. My prior experiences with technology in an educational setting include the use of technology primarily in high school. This was typically through school PC systems in a "computer lab" or teachers using interactive presentations while in the classroom. I first got a laptop when I went to college for the purpose of ...

I believe one of the key takeaways from learning about assistive technologies is that it should not be viewed as "going the extra mile" to accommodate students who need special assistance. Re put it perfectly, the law requires it so it should be expected just as much as a student who would learn without these technologies. I believe finding assistive technologies and learning them ourselves would be easiest when we become educators to accommodate a student that way you do not have to play catch up as they are trying to learn with the rest of the class. I also think by looking for more options it will help students who can't use the tools provided.  From Diigo, I have learned how to be resourceful with storing and sharing websites/documents. While I regularly use another program that saves documents for me easier, however it does not allow the ability to share documents to a group. I believe it is useful in a less professional setting, a service that would work better in ...

 1. I was unable to find any active class pages that did not require a direct login. They all operated through either canvas or a local operating system that required a login even for parents. While I was unable to gain access to them, I spoke to my Aunt who works in administration at River Ridge High School in Tampa, Florida and she said the students and parents have access to a overview of the class and due dates, but parents do not have access to detailed information about grades and assignments. 2. I will use technology to effectively plan out lessons and keep track of student progress. The primary tool I will use is Microsoft Excel and other 365 applications, this will allow me to keep track of student grades outside of the provided applications. This will also help me keep track of students and their behavior in orderly fashion so when and if there are situational issues I will have a database that I can contact parents/legal guardians about. A lot of other tools can be used,...
