Blog #6
Diigo is an interesting tool to say the least, I really do enjoy the group sharing experience it provides. I use a similar tool for my other classes that are very research based called Zotero. While Zotero is a great tool for saving and extracting information from articles and research studies, there is no way to share it directly to a forum with peers. Diigo excels at the Web 2.0 design where there is multi-user interaction.
I personally am rather unbiased towards blogging, I enjoy the aspect of being able to write in the first person as I mostly have only ever written in the third. It really allows me to express my opinion in ways I couldn't have before, as I typically only write research based essays and nothing too opinionated. I have learned so far that blogging is more than just writing your opinion with little to no evidence, but it is more so an opinionated research study. While some bloggers and blogging websites offer little to no support for their claims, blogging should include evidence backed opinions to be respected.
I will be reviewing Kahoot, a website designed to turn learning into an interactive competition based game. It is a great tool to help students learn and instill integrity and competition in them as the game is a time based response. I used it in high school and loved it as all my peers enjoyed the competition aspect of it. As a teacher, I would also include incentives to those who win first place, such as a small amount of extra credit or candy as this always made it more fun for us. https://kahoot.com/
